by time news

Islamabad: The re-emergence of polio in Pakistan after many years has created fear among the people. Polio is a childhood disease that affects children. The polio virus that causes this disease is caused by an environmental health disorder. According to the World Health Organization, the number of polio cases dropped from 350,000 in 1988 to less than 99% a few years ago.

The World Health Organization says polio is currently spreading in only three countries: Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria. In this case, a 2-year-old child in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was diagnosed with polio. A few days ago, a 15-month-old baby from the same province was diagnosed with the disease. The two children from Mir Ali were infected with type 1 polio. Thus people are in panic.
