Maine Black Bears Seek Fifth Straight Victory Against Stony Brook
Despite a rocky start to their 2025 campaign, the University of Maine black bears are surging, aiming for a fifth consecutive win this saturday when they host Stony brook. Both teams are battling to climb the ranks of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) standings and secure a winning record. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 1, in Orono, Maine, and will be streamed live on FloCollege and the FloSports app.
The Black Bears began the 2025 season with four consecutive losses, but have dramatically reversed their fortunes with four straight victories, including two on the road.Currently holding a 4-4 overall record, MaineS 3-1 mark within the CAA places them just outside the top-25 consideration alongside Villanova, monmouth, and Rhode Island.
Stony brook enters the contest with momentum of its own, having nearly secured a dominant win against Towson on homecoming weekend. Though, a late-game surge by Towson, fueled by two crucial touchdown passes from Nathan Kent, narrowed the gap from 24-12 in the fourth quarter. A critical three-and-out sequence for Stony Brook, resulting in a loss of six yards, proved pivotal in Towson’s comeback.
