Following this, the Tamil Nadu government set up a one-man committee headed by Revenue and Disaster Management Principal Secretary Kumar Jayant to inquire into the accident. Kumar Jayant conducted an inquiry in Kalimedu village yesterday. He will be interrogating those being treated at the Medical College Hospital today.
Earlier in the day, Collector Dinesh Bonraj Oliver, SB Ravali Priya, officials from the Department of Power, Highways, Fire and Rescue Department, Public Works Department, Revenue Department, Medical Committee and Hindu Temples Department participated in the review meeting held at the Thanjavur Collector’s Office. The Principal Secretary sought information on the accident from each departmental official.
