The residents and visitors of the ejido coastal nucleus of Almerimar You can now enjoy the modernization and improvement project carried out by the local government in the playgrounds of the Varadero Square and Mar Azul Gardenswhich has made it possible to improve not only the image but also its conditions of use.
The mayor of El Ejido, Francisco Gongoratogether with the councilor for Public Works, Alberto Gonzalezand the president of the Local Board, Innocent Gabriel Manzano, was able to verify the excellent image presented by these parks once the refurbishment work has been completed. The councilor explains that “without a doubt, these are two very central spaces that, being in areas where numerous catering establishments are concentrated, become an ideal place for the enjoyment and fun of the little ones.”

This action has made it possible to provide both spaces with new game modules, also inclusive, in addition to installing shock-absorbing rubber flooring of different thicknesses depending on the maximum height of the fall, being 80 mm for those areas with a maximum fall height of 1.90 m and for areas with a lower fall height at 1.2 m, the pavement has a thickness of 40 mm. The works have also entailed the prior repair and execution of a 15 cm thick concrete slab with a pavement base.
It should be remembered that these works are included in the ambitious Plan of Action in Parks, Squares and Children’s Areas that, with a budget of more than 2 million euros, aims to improve, in a general way, all these public infrastructures before the end of this mandate. Moreover, as the local official specifies, “this responds to the local government’s commitment to provide the municipality with infrastructures of the highest quality, which respond to the needs of our neighbors and in which to enjoy all kinds of outdoor family fun activities.
The mayor remarks that “Almerimar is a nucleus that is located in constant population growth and, therefore, it requires quality infrastructures in accordance with its needs. Hence, our intention is to gradually improve public spaces to make them more pleasant and invite you to walk”.
Finally, it should be noted that another of the planned projects is the remodeling of the Caravel Squarewhere an important rehabilitation will be carried out that will allow it to become a reference recreation area in the coastal nucleus.
