A few days ago, it was reported that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had approved the removal of Mahinda Rajapaksa from the post of Prime Minister in a sudden turn in Sri Lankan politics.
To the delight of the public that this decision of the President was a victory for their struggle, Rajapaksa has not resigned to this day. Instead he wished the people of the country a happy May Day.
In his May Day message today, he said, ‘Happy May Day to all sections of the people and to the tireless working people. The country must recover from the economic crisis and work together to succeed, ‘said Mahinda Rajapaksa in a May Day message.
