ESVA Chamber of Commerce Appoints Kelly Donnell as Director of Marketing and Events

The Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Kelly Donnell as its new Director of Marketing and Events, signaling a strategic move to bolster community engagement and economic development initiatives. Donnell’s extensive experience in event planning and chamber operations is expected to be a significant asset to the region.

A native of the Eastern Shore, Donnell returns to the area after more than two decades, bringing a wealth of knowledge gained from diverse professional experiences. She is an alumna of Northampton High School and holds a degree from Richard Bland College of William & Mary.

A Return to the Shore with a Proven Track Record

Donnell’s career path has taken her across several states, including Montana and Texas, before her recent relocation to Onancock, Virginia. Prior to returning to the Eastern Shore, she served as Director of Operations for the Portland (TX) Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she played a pivotal part in organizing prominent local events, including Shrimporee, a festival celebrating the region’s seafood heritage, and Windfest, a four-day community celebration featuring live music and family-friendly attractions.

Her expertise extends beyond operational leadership. Donnell previously worked as a community journalist for newspapers in the Western Tidewater area, demonstrating a commitment to local storytelling and civic engagement. She also dedicated significant time to volunteer work, supporting fundraising efforts for organizations like the American Cancer Society and Komen for the Cure.
