The device, priced at 18,480 yen including tax, promises enhanced stability, intelligent tracking, and expanded functionality for both iPhone and Android users.

The Osmo Mobile 8 boasts a 360° pan rotation, a first for the Osmo Mobile series, allowing for seamless panoramic shots and dynamic perspectives. Coupled with an ultra-comfortable grip, the gimbal facilitates low-angle shooting and improved maneuverability, giving content creators greater freedom and flexibility. “This gimbal is designed to unlock new creative possibilities for smartphone videographers,” a company release stated.

A key feature of the Osmo Mobile 8 is its advanced subject tracking capabilities. The gimbal can now intelligently follow not only people but also beloved pets – cats and dogs – within the frame. This is achieved through three distinct tracking methods. For iPhone users, the Osmo Mobile 8 is now compatible with Apple’s intelligent tracking technology and Apple DockKit, enabling object tracking via the standard camera app and over 200 compatible iOS applications. Additionally, the DJI Mimo app leverages ActiveTrack 7.0, DJI’s proprietary tracking technology, for precise tracking of people, pets, and objects. The multi-functional module itself can also track dogs and cats, making it simple to capture heartwarming moments with furry companions.

The Osmo Mobile 8’s multi-function module significantly expands its capabilities. It features a microphone receiver compatible with DJI Mic 3, DJI Mic 2, and DJI Mic Mini transmitters, ensuring high-quality audio recording. An adjustable auxiliary light, offering eight brightness levels and eight color temperature settings, further enhances creative possibilities. The module also integrates an extension rod and tripod, eliminating the need for additional accessories and providing versatile shooting options.
