Girls In Sport Canada Announces Multi-Sport Mini Camp for Young Athletes

Empowering girls through sports, Girls In Sport Canada is hosting a unique mini camp designed to build confidence and introduce fundamental skills across a diverse range of athletic disciplines. The program aims to foster not only athletic competence but also a lifelong love of physical activity in young girls.

A spokesperson for the organization stated, “We give girls an inspiring and confidence-building multi-sport experience.”

Did you know?-Girls are six times more likely to quit sports by age 14 than boys, frequently enough due to lack of confidence or negative experiences. Programs like this aim to address that disparity.

Building Skills and Confidence in a Safe Environment

The camp, geared towards girls ages 5-12,will take place on November 29,2025,at The Ludus Martial Arts Academy.Participants will have the possibility to explore a variety of sports, including ultimate frisbee, soccer, basketball, flag rugby, volleyball, and flag football. Beyond traditional team sports, the camp will also introduce girls to the world of combat sports, with instruction in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing through a new partnership with The Ludus Martial Arts Academy.

Experienced coaches will lead all activities, prioritizing a safe and girl-pleasant environment. The program extends beyond athletic instruction, integrating confidence-building activities, crafts, and group games to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Pro tip:-Encourage young athletes to focus on effort and improvement, rather than solely on winning or losing. This builds resilience and a positive mindset.
