The US state of Kansas was hit by a devastating hurricane yesterday. 150 km there. The hurricane wind swirled at speed. Buildings, vehicles and trees, as well as houses and poles, including houses trapped in the tornado, were razed to the ground. The roofs of buildings, including houses, were thrown several miles away.
In particular, the hurricane completely devastated the city of Andover, Kansas. More than 100 buildings there were completely demolished to the ground level. Thousands of homes across the city were cut off from electricity as power poles tilted in the storm. Thus the normal life of the people is greatly paralyzed.
Meanwhile, a university student’s car coming from Oklahoma City to Kansas was involved in a hurricane that killed three students at the scene.
The hurricane, which struck the state of Kansas, also caused minor damage in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. The National Weather Service has warned of thunderstorms in all four states, including Kansas.
