The case was dismissed and a separate judge ordered Mukund Chand Potra to pay a fine of Rs 25,000. Mukundchand Bodra, who had appealed against the order of the separate judge, has gone missing and the High Court has allowed his son Kagan Bodra to continue the case. During the hearing of the case, advocate S.K. Haja Moideen Kishti on behalf of actor Rajinikanth. Ravichandran appeared.
Haja Moideen Kishti, counsel for Director Kasturi Raja, appeared and argued at the police and lower court hearings that Bodra had written that he had borrowed only 10 lakh rupees from Potra and had repaid the amount and that Rajini would pay if he did not return the money on the blank paper he had signed.
Kagan Bodra did not appear when the case came up for hearing in June 2021 and February 2022. When the case came up for hearing again in a session comprising Justices M Thuraisamy and TV Tamilchelvi, Kagan Bodra did not appear.
Following this, the judges said that the case was dismissed as the petitioner did not want to continue the trial and did not want to proceed with the case.
