Afghanistan, Biden-Johnson: virtual G7 next week

by time news

Virtual meeting of G7 leaders next week to discuss a common strategy and approach on Afghanistan. This is what US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have decided, speaking today about developments in the country.

The White House reports this in a note. Biden and Johnson today, we read, “praised the courage and professionalism of their military and civilian personnel, who are working side by side in Kabul for the evacuation of their Afghan citizens and citizens who have contributed to the war effort”.

Biden and Johnson also discussed the need for continued close coordination between allies and democratic partners on policy in Afghanistan in the future, including ways in which the global community can provide further humanitarian assistance and support to refugees and other vulnerable Afghans.
