A sudden loss has struck the Lincoln, Nebraska community with the passing of Katherine Elise “Kate” Gogela, a 42-year-old physician and mother of four, on November 7, 2025. Gogela’s unexpected death has left a void in the lives of those who knew her, remembered for her compassion, intellect, and unwavering dedication to family.
A Life Dedicated to Healing
Born on September 8, 1983, in Lincoln, Kate Gogela initially pursued a career in pediatrics, quickly establishing herself as a gifted and empathetic doctor. She touched countless lives with her medical expertise and genuine care for her patients. Later, she shifted her focus to newborn care and breastfeeding medicine, demonstrating a commitment to the most vulnerable members of society.
In 2019, Gogela made a significant personal decision, stepping away from her medical practice to prioritize her growing family. This choice, according to those who knew her, was a testament to her “love, humility, and devotion.”
Beyond the Medical Field
Gogela’s life extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was described as an avid runner and a lifelong learner, constantly seeking new knowledge and experiences.
