No compromise on protection of migrant workers’ rights and job security!

Doha ാലും The Ministry of Labor has stated that it will not compromise on the protection of the rights and employment of migrant workers even after the FIFA Qatar World Cup, and is committed to implementing the best international standards to ensure the job security of expatriate workers.

As part of the International Labor Day celebrations, Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of workers’ rights and job security. The development of short- and long-term legislation following the 2022 FIFA World Cup is one of Qatar’s strategic interests.

Precautions in accordance with international rules on occupational safety and health are being implemented in the workplace and in workers’ accommodation. Over the past 10 years, Qatar has implemented a number of labor reforms, including the abolition of exit permits and no-objection certificates from previous employers, the implementation of the minimum wage law, the establishment of visa centers in foreign countries, and the establishment of labor dispute resolution committees.

As part of the International Labor Day celebrations, the Mechanical Equipment Department of the Ministry of Municipalities in association with the Qatar Red Crescent Society honored the workers. The employees were honored for their outstanding contribution to the development of the country.
