State prosecutor Carlos Torres Piña confirmed the discovery, stating that authorities are awaiting forensic analysis to definitively confirm Josué’s participation in the mayor’s murder. the mayor was killed on the night of November 1 in Uruapan’s main square,in full view of crowds celebrating the Day of the Dead.
According to the prosecutor, Josué, a resident of Uruapan, had not been reported missing. His family only identified and claimed his remains a day after thier discovery. The remains of Josué and the other unidentified man were found in black bags near the entrance to the Colegio de Bachilleres in Capácuaro.
