A few hours before the away game against Hapoel Tel Aviv tonight (Monday, 20:30), Maccabi Haifa fans protested in front of the Football Association’s offices against the decision to close the northern stand in the home game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
According to the green fans, it is not possible that the 8,000 fans who populate the stands in the Sami Ofer Stadium will be punished due to the actions of individuals, when the club will also submit a request for further discussion. Those same fans made it clear that they would file a lawsuit in a civil court if necessary.
The great importance for the fans is due to the fact that it may be a game in which Maccabi Haifa will be crowned champions for the second time in a row, so that thousands of subscribers will not be able to watch the championship game.
If Maccabi Haifa defeats Hapoel Tel Aviv tonight, it will be able to secure the championship if it defeats Hapoel Beer Sheva at Turner Stadium next Saturday.
