Cardi B Celebrates Dominican Heritage with Playful Engagement with “La Casa de Alofoke”

The Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B continues to publicly embrace her Dominican roots, recently sparking online conversation with humorous interactions surrounding the popular Dominican reality show, La Casa de Alofoke 2.

On Sunday evening, Cardi B shared a lighthearted story on her social media channels, delivered in Dominican Spanish, referencing moments from the show featuring La Fruta, a content creator based in the United States and a participant in the current season. The exchange involved La Fruta playfully testing his English language skills, reciting basic phrases like “How are you,” “I’m hungry,” and “What’s your name,” eliciting laughter from viewers.

This isn’t the first time the artist has publicly acknowledged La Casa de Alofoke. During the first season, Cardi B jokingly discussed a list of conditions with businessman Santiago Matías, the show’s creator, as prerequisites for a potential visit.

Remaining true to her signature comedic style, Cardi B responded with a series of culturally relevant requests. While expressing interest in appearing on the program, she initially cited a busy schedule tied to her new album release in October as a barrier. However, she remained open to the possibility of a later appearance.

“I want to go to the House of Alofoke, because that is always on television at my aunt’s house and at my grandmother’s house. I even feel like I’m at home,” the artist reportedly stated. She added, “Right now I’m doing so many things with my new album that I’m free in October. If the house is still active in October, I’ll go there and even fight.”

The artist, whose father is Dominican, has consistently incorporated elements of her heritage into her public persona and online content. This latest interaction exemplifies that commitment, featuring references to Dominican cuisine and transportation.

Continuing the playful exchange, Cardi B detailed a series of extravagant “requirements” that she claimed Alofoke was unwilling to fulfill. These included a 30-seat private jet, eight buckets of Victorina chicken, and 30 pounds of lemongrass.

“People, I was going to go to Alofoke’s House, but Alofoke doesn’t want to accommodate me. I told him to send me a jet with 30 seats, round trip, and he said no. I asked him for eight buckets of Victorina chicken, and he said no. I told him to give me 30 pounds of lemongrass, and he also said no. So how do you want me to go there? On a Caribe Tours bus? Hahahahaha. “I’m not going to the House of Alofoke,” she said, according to reports.

The anecdote, while humorous, underscores the significant cultural impact La Casa de Alofoke has achieved, both within the Dominican Republic and among the Dominican diaspora, particularly in the United States. The show’s reach extends beyond entertainment, serving as a touchstone for cultural identity.

More recently, Cardi B sent a message to her stylist, Luis, who participated in the second season of the show, stating: “Get ready, Luis, because you didn’t go to cook.” This playful jab further demonstrates her ongoing engagement with the program and its participants.

The artist’s continued connection to La Casa de Alofoke highlights the growing influence of Dominican media and culture on a global stage.
