Co.KGF 2 (KGF 2) continues to be a hit, following in the footsteps of some of the biggest blockbusters ever released. Yash, which hit theaters on the 14th of last month, is seen progressing across countries and languages every day. The film has garnered excellent box office collection in all languages. So far, the film has grossed Rs 1,025.61 crore.
Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabala tweeted this. KGF2 has topped the list of highest grossing films in India, ahead of RRR, Bahubali 2 and Dangal. RRR, directed by Rajamouli, created huge hype at the box office this year before KGF2. According to reports, the RRR has so far earned Rs 1,115 crore.
KGF was also a turning point in the history of Kannada cinema. Sanjay Dutt played the lead role of Adheera in the Yash starrer period gangster drama. Sreenidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Malvika Avinash, Achuth Kumar, Ayyappa P Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Eshwari Rao, Archana Joyce, TS Nagabharana, Sharan, Avinash, Zaki Laxman, Vashishta Sinha, Harish Rai, Dinesh Tharanga, Ramachandra Raju, Vinay Bidappa, Ashok Sharma, Mohan Juneja, Govinda Gowda, John Kokkan and Srinivas Murthy play the other roles. The first part of KGF was released in 2018.
More than 63 lakh people in 10 days, ‘Odian’ was well received in Hindi as well
Mohanlal’s ‘Odiyan’, a Malayalam super hit movie, was recently released in Hindi. The Hindi version of the movie has been released by Pen Movies on YouTube. The Hindi version of ‘Odian’ is also getting good reception. Released on April 23, the Hindi version has so far been viewed by over 63 lakh people (Odiyan).
VA Sreekumar Menon’s ‘Odian’ is a movie that has reached the 100 crore club. ‘Odiyan’ is the second highest grossing film in Kerala on release day. Until the arrival of ‘KGF Two’, Odian was still in the lead. Manju Warrier played the lead role in Mohanlal starrer Odian.
The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor. The production was under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas. Distributed by Max Lab Cinemas. The film was edited by John Kutty.
The script of the film is written by K Harikrishnan. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Innocent, Siddique and Kailash. Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer of the film. Fans are happy that ‘Odiyanum’ has been accepted as a hit as the Hindi translation versions of some Malayalam films in recent times.
