BYU Diving Team Set to Compete at 2025 USC Invitational

The Brigham Young University (BYU) diving team will kick off its season this week at the prestigious 2025 USC Invitational, hosted by the University of Southern California. the competition, taking place at the Yugytsu Aquatics Center in Los Angeles, California, marks the frist major test for the Cougars’ divers.

The USC Invitational is scheduled to run from November 20th through November 22nd. Diver Llop secured first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events,while Sparks claimed third in the 3-meter competition. Women’s Team Led by Rising Star

The BYU women’s team, featuring Sophia DeBergh, Brooklyn Goeckeritz, Alexia Jackson Hansen, Betty Martin, and Aubrin Ordynahas, also demonstrated remarkable form leading into the USC invitational. Freshman Brooklyn Goeckeritz currently leads the team with two first-place finishes this season and, like Llop, has achieved a top-three placement in every event she’s participated in. Sophomore Aubrin Ordyna contributed a third-place finish in the 3-meter event against UNLV.

Following the USC Invitational, BYU will resume team competition on January 3rd in Honolulu against Hawaii. The dive team will then conclude its dive-only schedule with a meet at the Air Force Academy from January 28th to January 31st.
