Forecasters anticipate the cyclone will move into the north-west Top End on Saturday. A concerning possibility exists that Fina could escalate to a category three intensity as it traverses the Van Diemen Gulf. The system is then expected to continue on a south-west path through the Timor Sea on Sunday and into early next week.
