The logistics of the NBA Cup can initially seem complex, as games count towards both the tournament standings and the regular season record that determines playoff qualification. However, the structure is relatively straightforward. All 30 NBA teams are divided into six five-team groups – three in the Western Conference and three in the Eastern Conference.
Within each group, teams participate in a Round Robin tournament, playing each of their four group opponents once for a total of four group games.
