Thrikkakara By-Election | Uma Thomas is the UDF candidate in Thrikkakara

Kochi: In the Thrikkakara by-election, the late MLA P.P. T. Thomas’ wife Uma Thomas was nominated by the KPCC. The KPCC had proposed to field Uma at the Congress leadership meeting in Thiruvananthapuram. The KPCC leadership has informed the High Command about this. It is reported that the official candidate announcement will be made this evening.

KPCC President K. Sudhakaran, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, UDF Convener MM It is learned that only Uma Thomas’ name was considered in the meeting which was attended by Hassan, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala. Opposition leader VD Satheesan had earlier said that the nomination process would be completed soon and an announcement would be made soon.

Before the senior leaders joined the meeting, VD Satheesan had interacted with various leaders in the state. P.T. The general feeling in Congress is that Uma Thomas should contest in Thomas’ seat. In this regard, K. Sudhakaran and VD Satheesan took a united stand.

Apart from being PT Thomas’ wife, Uma, who is also a former KSU leader, is expected to contest from Thrikkakara. As a constituency close to Kochi city, the leadership hopes that the presence of a woman candidate in Thrikkakara will be a positive factor.
