Dispur. Pornography on the stage screen of an event attended by the Union Minister, Assam Minister and other top officials. The incident took place on Saturday at a hotel in Assam’s Tinsukia district during a ceremony organized by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to introduce methanol-containing M-15 petrol. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Theli, Assam Labor Minister Sanjay Kisan and IOC officials were present on the occasion.
Screens were set up behind the stage to broadcast live footage of the event. The pornographic video began to play while an IOC official was speaking. The organizers immediately switched the screen to Damage Control mode and removed the video from the screen. But some in the audience recorded the incident on their mobile phones.
Top police officials immediately rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Tinsukia police registered a case. The ceremony was also streamed live online via Zoom Meeting. An IOC official shared the ID and password of the Zoom meeting on his Twitter account. Tinsukia Superintendent of Police Debojit said the culprit, who learned of the meeting ID and password from Twitter, may have joined the meeting and streamed pornographic videos. The Tinsukia District Magistrate announced an investigation into the incident.
