Cadence has announced the launch of the Cadence Fidelity CFD software to perform Computational Fluid Dynamics for a variety of industries such as automotive, jet engines, vessels, aviation, aerospace and more. The overall system is based on Cadence’s knowledge in the field of computational software and the technologies it has acquired following the acquisition of the companies NUMECA and Pointwise. From the system allows to simulate different types of flow, including: wind around passenger cars, movement and temperature of the gases in jet engines, the movement of liquid around vessels and the like.

According to the company, the flow resolver of the Fidelity CFD software makes it possible to predict an aerodynamic tow on a vehicle with a precision level up to 10 times higher than a traditional CFD resolver. In addition, it shortens the calculation times from a few weeks to one day or less. Among other things, this is done through the meshing capabilities of the software. Toyota Motor Europe’s Automotive Performance Engineering R&D Director, Antoine Delacroix, said the company chose NUMECA’s Autoseal and Hexpress to be the standard workflow for CFD preprocessing. “They allowed us to reduce our lead time and total working hours by 91% and 97% respectively, and consistently provided us with high quality mesh with excellent layer coverage. Automation and standardization allow the creation of mesh from CAD without long training of early processing. We love the combination of all these tools in Fidelity CFD ”.
