Riyadh: Sulai, Batha and New Sanaya areas have organized a public iftar gathering as part of the 2022 Community Lent, organized by the Keli Arts and Culture Center for the public during the month of Ramadan. Iftar was organized at the area level under the leadership of various area committees to bring the presence of Keli to more expats in Riyadh and surrounding areas.
Keli, who has been holding Iftar gatherings non-stop for over 20 years, has not been able to hold Iftar gatherings in the wake of the Kovid epidemic for the past two years. But the Kovid victims, and many ordinary expatriate workers who have been struggling to find food and work since Kovid, have been provided with various Iftar kits containing medicines, food items and medical equipment to support them and provide shelter.
More than 700 expatriates, including about 100 families, attended the mass iftar organized by the Sulay Area Committee at the Sulay Shiba Jazeera Auditorium. Organizing Committee Chairman George PO, Convener Hashim Kunnathara, Area Secretary Kahim Chelari, Patron Committee Convener Anirudhan, Arshid, Prashant, Balaraman, Area Volunteer Captain Ismail, Ishaq, Sharaf, Vinayan and Nawaz Shamir Parampadi led the Iftar.
More than a thousand expatriates, including people from other states and different nationalities, attended the Iftar gathering, which was jointly organized by the Batha Area Committee and the Central Committee, at the Classic Restaurant premises. Shameer Kunnummal, Anil Arakkal, Ramakrishnan, Vinod, Hussain Manakkad, Sudheesh Tarol, Sunil Pottodi, Mohandas and Biju Thayambath led the Iftar preparations. Lulu Hypermarket and Sona Jewelery collaborated with Iftar.
More than 1,500 people, including workers from different nationalities from nearby labor camps, attended the Iftar meeting of the New Sanaya Area Committee, which took place inside the New Sanaya Dubai Market and at the Dubai Oasis Restaurant. The organizing committee officials said that this year’s Iftar was a great success with more mass participation than the previous Iftar gatherings. Preparations for Iftar were led by organizing committee convener Abbas, chairman Nasser, New Sanaya acting secretary Nisar Mannancherry, president Hussain, branch secretary Manoharan, Dubai restaurant representative Rafi Chenadan and A2Z market manager Nawaz.
