However, the results delivered a shocking revelation. “We did the DNA tests and discovered that the father who was present at the test was only the father of one of the children,” she shared with Spanish TV channel Antena 3. “That night, I had sex with two different men and became pregnant by both of them.”
Further testing confirmed the extraordinary truth: each twin had been fathered by a different man. The mother expressed her disbelief, stating, “It was a surprise to me because I never imagined this could happen. But anyway, today my children are healthy and well.”

Dr. Tulio Jorge Franco, the woman’s physician, emphasized the rarity of this case, stating it was only the 20th such occurrence to be recorded globally. He explained that while the twins share their mother’s genetic material, they “grow in different placentas,” effectively developing as fraternal twins with distinct paternal lineages.
The case has garnered important attention within the medical community. Due to its unusual nature, Dr. Franco and his medical students are actively studying the case, with one student already preparing a scientific article detailing the findings.
A Father Steps Up
Despite the complex circumstances, the story has a heartwarming element. One of the men involved has willingly embraced paternal duty for both children, and they have been legally registered under his name. The mother shared that he provides “all the support they need,” despite not being the biological father of both boys.
