Russian President Vladimir Putin has been diagnosed with cancer. The New York Post reports that surgery will be performed soon and that the administration will hand over power to Secretary of Defense Nicolai Patrushev. The report is based on a telegram from a former lieutenant of the Russian spy agency. For days, Putin had been rumored to have stomach cancer and to undergo surgery.
Various Western media outlets have speculated that he may have other illnesses, including Parkinson’s, citing his pictures and videos. It is reported that the regime will hand over power to Putrushev, a staunch Putin supporter, in two or three days.
