In 2020, Apple introduced the Apple Watch SE, an affordable version of the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch SE formula was very similar to the iPhone SE – cut back on some features to keep the price down.
Now, it looks like the Cupertino giant may release the next version of the Watch SE, which is supposed to be called Watch SE 2, or Watch SE (second generation). According to a report, the successor to the Apple Watch SE may feature a similar look with some changes made under the hood.
Apple Watch SE 2: Price and launch date
A recent report from iDrop revealed the Apple Watch SE 2 specs and pricing. According to some unmentioned sources, the Apple Watch SE 2 may come with a starting price of $299. It is said to come in two sizes – 40mm and 42mm. There is no word on when it will be launched, but considering the usual schedule, it should launch alongside the upcoming iPhones in September.
Apple Watch SE 2: Features and Specifications
The Apple Watch SE 2 is expected to come with an aluminum body with a similar design to its predecessor. The Watch SE 2 will have a screen similar to the Watch SE.
Same screen-to-body ratio. Furthermore, the second-generation Watch SE is said to be powered by the S7 chip, the same chip found in last year’s Watch Series 7.
With the S7 chip, the Watch SE 2 may bring some long-awaited additions. The report states that the next generation of Watch SE 2 will feature Always On Display, an ECG sensor, and improved sound quality over its predecessor. The battery capacity is expected to remain unchanged, providing up to 18 hours of battery life, but the Watch SE 2 can borrow fast charging from the Watch Series 7.
