BMW has cemented its position as a leading automotive manufacturer,securing an unprecedented nine awards in the recent “Auto Zeitung” reader survey and earning the coveted title of “Best Brand in the World” for 2025.The accolades,announced December 1,2025,recognize BMW’s innovation,performance,and overall brand appeal across its diverse vehicle lineup.
iX3 and M5 Touring Claim Top Honors at Golden Steering Wheel Awards
The all-electric BMW iX3, the automaker’s first vehicle based on the new “Neue Klasse” platform, was awarded the prestigious “Golden Steering Wheel” for “Best Innovation” of 2025. Simultaneously, the BMW M5 Touring secured a win in the “High Class/Luxury” category at the same awards.These awards, presented by German magazines Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag, are considered among the most prestigious in the European automotive industry, wiht a 49-year history of recognizing remarkable new vehicles.
The rigorous selection process involved initial reader voting, narrowing down 72 nominated models to three finalists per category. These finalists then underwent exhaustive testing by a panel of racing drivers, industry experts, and automotive journalists at the DEKRA-Lausitzring circuit, evaluating daily usability, quality, sustainability, powertrain performance, and value.
Reader Choice: BMW Sweeps “Auto Trophy” Awards
Beyond the “Golden Steering Wheel,” BMW achieved remarkable success in the “Auto Trophy” awards presented by Auto Zeitung. A record-breaking nine “Auto Trophies” were awarded to BMW models, surpassing the brand’s already strong performance of eight wins in 2024.
M5 Touring: A Blend of Performance and Practicality
powered by a new M hybrid powertrain delivering 727 hp (535 kW), the M5 Touring offers a cargo capacity ranging from 500 to 1,630 liters. The vehicle impressed jurors with its performance across all driving disciplines, as well as its value for money and fuel economy, earning the highest overall score in the “golden Steering Wheel” competition.
