Melbourne Stabbing: Teenager Charged in Connection with Fatal Attack

A Melbourne teenager has been charged in connection with the death of a 40-year-old man following a stabbing in the city’s north on Sunday afternoon. The incident has prompted a wide-ranging police examination and a search for a second suspect.

The victim was discovered with stab wounds at the intersection of Maribyrnong and Union roads in Ascot Vale and subsequently died in hospital after being rushed to receive medical attention.

Arrest and Charges

Police swiftly apprehended Alambs Mohmmed, an 18-year-old, several streets away approximately 15 minutes after the incident. Mohmmed, who authorities state has no fixed address, was charged with multiple offenses including intentionally causing injury, affray, escaping custody, and theft.
