“I really respect the connections they have with their community and their kids,” Quintana said. “They just really care about whole child progress and their well-roundedness of the kids is at the forefront of their programming.”
Quintana revealed he has been in contact with approximately a dozen other wrestling coaches, coordinating efforts to provide support to the Central High School team during their recovery. “I want those kids to get back and healthy and be back and be normal high school students as soon as they can,and whatever we could do to provide that. As a lifelong educator… I would just kind of reflect back on how that would have impacted my community,” he explained.
