Legal professionals to Receive Enhanced Training Amidst System modernization
A new strategic plan will prioritize upskilling for Lawyers of the Administration of Justice (LAJ) as the legal system undergoes significant change.
A recent meeting between the Union of Justice Personnel (UPSJ) and the Pedagogical Commission of the Center for Legal Studies (CEJ) outlined a thorough plan to bolster training for legal professionals. The discussions, held via Teams, focused on the execution of the Strategic Plan 2025-2027 and an assessment of existing training programs for Lawyers of the Administration of Justice (LAJ).
Strategic Plan Progress and Training Evaluation
the CEJ provided an update on the progress of its strategic Plan 2025-2027, alongside a review of the training already delivered to the LAJ body.Representatives from UPSJ expressed gratitude for the “effort and quality of the training†offered by the CEJ, recognizing its “fundamental†role in the professional advancement of their members.
Focus on Technological and International Expertise
Looking ahead, the CEJ detailed its training plans for the current year and extending into 2026. A key emphasis will be placed on equipping LAJs with the skills needed to navigate the ongoing organizational and technological transformation within the legal system. Training will also continue to address the importance of international legal matters.
Online Training Expansion for Incoming LAJ Cohort
With the anticipated arrival of a large incoming class – LAJ promotion 48 – the CEJ indicated a shift towards prioritizing online training. This decision is driven by logistical constraints,specifically a lack of sufficient physical space to accommodate all trainees in person. However, UPSJ has strongly advocated for in-person training, particularly for initial programs, citing its critical role in preparing and acclimating new personnel to their positions.
SERÉ Scholarships and Streamlined Bill Payments
The CEJ also confirmed the continuation of the SERÉ scholarships, designed to support specialized training opportunities. Plans are underway to improve the scholarships’ visibility,accessibility,and overall utilization. Moreover, improvements to the supporting bill payment system are planned, aiming to expedite processing times, reduce administrative burdens, and ensure consistent management for all beneficiaries.
Call for Increased CEJ Funding
UPSJ is urging increased budgetary allocation for the CEJ to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality, specialized training. This investment is seen as crucial for adapting to the evolving legal landscape brought about by the implementation of the COUNTY system and the new Courts of Instance. “Reinforcing the budgetary allocation of the CEJ is paramount,” a senior official stated, “to guarantee continuous, specialized training adapted to the new framework.”
