Man Dies After Shooting in Neuquén Neighborhood

A 40-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after a shooting in the San Lorenzo North neighborhood of Neuquén. The incident, which occurred Wednesday night, has prompted a high-alert investigation as authorities work to identify the suspects.
The victim, now identified as Nelson Pino, was discovered by neighbors lying in a public street with a gunshot wound to the face. Quick action by residents transported the injured man first to the Heller Hospital for initial treatment, and then to the Castro Rendón Hospital.
Initial Reports and Transfer to Hospital
Neighbors were alerted to the violence by explosions around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Upon discovering Pino, they immediately sought medical assistance. According to initial reports, the man was nearing brain death before being transferred to the Castro Rendón Hospital.
“The scene was chaotic,” a local resident recounted to LM Neuquen. “Neighbors did everything they could to get him help as quickly as possible.”

Less than 24 hours after the shooting, judicial sources confirmed Pino’s death to LM Neuquen. The investigation is being led by prosecutor Guadalupe Inaudi.

Preliminary findings indicate the attack was carried out by individuals on a motorcycle who opened fire without dismounting. Criminalistics personnel recovered six spent shell casings from the scene.
