Private payroll employment growth slowed in the first quarter of 2022.
A point of inflection, perhaps more… In the first quarter, the growth of salaried employment experienced a slight slowdown, breaking the good trajectory of the year 2021, where more than 675,000 jobs were created in the companies in France. Between January and March, INSEE has in fact identified “only” 66,100 job creations, a provisional figure (to be confirmed in a month) which represents half of the volume of creations recorded in the last three months of 2021. “Despite the war in Ukraine, companies remain confident in their business prospects”nevertheless welcomed Élisabeth Borne, the Minister of Labor, on Twitter. “In total, at the end of March 2022, private salaried employment exceeded its level before the health crisis (i.e. at the end of 2019) by 2% (+ 389,700 jobs)”specifies the statistical institute.
