“Let’s Dance”: René and Kathrin slip up on Hebefigur – TV

by time news

With “Jailhouse Rock” they left their strength.

Quarter finals at the dance spectacle! Just five couples were allowed to try to dance their way to the next round on Friday evening at “Let’s Dance” with smooth moves, sophisticated choreographies and light-footed steps.

A task that didn’t go perfectly for every couple. Actress Sarah Mangione (31) and Vadim Garbuzov (34) performed without mishaps, but juror Joachim Llambi (57) still had something to complain about: “There was far too little Charleston in it.”

Circus artist René Casselly (25) and professional partner Kathrin Menzinger (33) tried the jive – and René was already hitting the samples: “That’s the point where my body also says at some point: Nothing works anymore.”

Moral support was needed – and Casselly found it in his circus animals. After a video call with his elephants, the artist and “Ninja Warrior” was in the best of spirits again and started the performance to “Jailhouse Rock” with a spectacular jump over a gate. But at the end of the joint performance with Kathrin, the audience noticed that something was wrong here. After an elaborate lifting figure, Kathrin landed on the floor and finished the dance sitting.

Moderator Daniel Hartwich (43) reacted with concern: “Did you hurt yourself?” Fortunately, Kathrin was fine. She took the blame for the blunder: “I didn’t hurt myself. I just didn’t have the strength to pull myself up.” Juror Motsi Mabuse (41) really wanted to give the dance duo another chance and kept shouting: “Do it again!”

The two didn’t need to be told twice and put the lifting figure on the floor again to loud cheers from Motsi – this time with success. Hartwich was deeply impressed: “To be honest, Kathrin Menzinger is the real machine. It’s a good thing there was still strength left.”

Good points despite the blunder

Despite the mistake, Motsi scored eight points: “This was perhaps the most human thing we’ve seen that can go wrong. But these kicks were great!” Jorge González (54) also awarded eight points – and compliments: “A great spectacle, you have to say it like that!” Joachim Llambi raised the sevens: “Shortly before the final number happened, that was it A tad slower pace. And then the closing number happens, that’s just the way it is. That’s human, that’s what Motsi said, but we still have to evaluate it.”

Presenter Janin Ullmann (40), on the other hand, didn’t have to worry at all: for her Slow Fox with Zsolt Sándor Cseke (34) on “Call me” by Blondie, she overwhelmed the jury and, like last week, got full points. Llambi reacted unusually emotionally: “That was the highlight so far tonight. You made me happy now.”

But the candidates also had to present a second dance that evening. Another professional dancer was involved in the trio dances. And here Casselly and Menzinger were able to make up for their lifting figure mistake. Together with Valentin Lusin (35) they dared to do a Slow Fox – and literally knocked the otherwise critical Llambi out of his socks: “This quality should also come into the Latin dances. You get ten points from me now!”

Received too few calls: Sarah Mangione and Vadim GarbuzovFoto: Getty Images

Jorge and Motsi didn’t hesitate for a second either and pulled out the ten-handle. Motsi enthused: “For me you are an absolutely exceptional talent!” 30 points for the trio dance for René and Kathrin. But Janin also caused a storm of enthusiasm again.

After her tango with Zsolt and Evgeny Vinokurov (31), Llambi spontaneously offered her his entire trowel box: “That’s a total of 59 points. Take her with you!” Full points again for the favourite.

However, the viewers also had a say in their calls – and sealed the “Let’s Dance” fate of a dancing couple. At 11:35 p.m. Daniel Hartwich announced the end of presenter and actress Sarah Mangione (31) and Vadim Garbuzov (34). For them, the dance excursion is over.
