Star-Studded Lineup Announced for 2026 Hamar Music Festival
Tickets are now on sale for a major music festival returning to Tjuvholmen Arena in Hamar, Norway, on August 1, 2026. The event promises a diverse range of artists, building on the success of this summer’s festival which featured Halva Priset, Spinnvill, Carina Dahl, Rune Rudberg, Postgirobygget, and TIX, drawing several thousand attendees to the shores of Mjøsa.
GDR to Headline Highly Anticipated Reunion
One of the most talked-about acts is the reunion of GDR, the acclaimed band featuring Atle Antonsen, Johan Golden, and Berit Boman. Originally disbanding nine years ago after a performance for 5,000 spectators at Oslo Spektrum, GDR had initially planned a 25-year hiatus. However, “troubled times and increased polarization have led to the bridge builders band’s reunion being forced forward already in 2026,” according to festival organizers.
GDR is expected to deliver a performance steeped in their signature “timeless, eternally relevant and sardonic rock cascade.” The band described their preparations as a full-scale overhaul, stating they plan to “tighten the latex even further, twist the suits, bruise the guitar, rubber the battery, lubricate the bass, polish the claviano and rub the expensive brass string clean.” Fans can anticipate hearing classics like “Hier Wird Es Leben, Rai Rai”, “Schwache Menschen”, “99 Luftballons” and “Die Winde Am Kai,” all performed in German.
A Mix of Norwegian and Swedish Talent
The festival lineup extends beyond GDR, showcasing a vibrant mix of established and rising stars. Halva Priset, led by Petter Katastrofe, is set to bring their energetic live show, promising “a masterclass in tumbling” and hits like “Kjerring from the city”, “Konge på bøgda”, “Raggarhimlen” and “Kompis.” The band has amassed over 150 million Spotify streams and previously collaborated with artists like Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen and Maria Mena.
Plumbo, described as one of Norway’s most popular live bands, will also take the stage. The band, known for refusing to be categorized, blends “village rock, party music, pop, country and sing-along favourites” into a consistently high-energy performance. They are expected to showcase new material alongside their established hits, having released five new songs in 2025 with another five to six planned for 2026.
Rising Stars and Tribute Acts Complete the Bill
Rounding out the lineup are several other notable performers. Sandra Lyng, with millions of streams and hits like “Play My Drum,” will bring her signature energy and summer vibes to the festival. Tipping for’n far, a tribute to Vazelina Bilopphøgger, promises a spectacular show featuring an 11-piece orchestra. Rydell & Quick, hailed as Sweden’s best party band, is set to deliver a high-octane performance.
Veteran artist Day Ingebrigtsen, inducted into the Rockheim HALL of FAME, will perform a setlist filled with his legendary hits, including “Fall in love with the teacher” and “Harley Davidson.” Organizers anticipate a strong sing-along element to his performance.
The 2026 Hamar music festival is poised to be a highlight of the summer, offering a diverse and exciting lineup for music fans of all tastes.
