Google Pixelsnap Charger Sale: Worth It or Are There Better Qi2 Options?

Google’s official Pixelsnap Charger with Qi2 25W support is currently discounted, but consumers may find superior alternatives for their wireless charging needs.

The Pixelsnap Charger and Pixelsnap Charger with Stand are both on sale through the Google Store on Amazon, marking the first significant price reduction on either product. The charger, a magnetic puck attached to a cable, is available for $29.99, down from its usual price of $39.99. The charger and stand combination is discounted to $49.99, a $20 reduction from its original $69.99 price tag. These prices are available at both Amazon and Best Buy, but not directly through the Google Store. Additionally, Google’s 45W USB-C charger, a useful companion for these products but sold separately, is also $5 off at both retailers.

Despite the price cuts, experts suggest a cautious approach. “While these are solid prices, it’s still not really easy to tell anyone to pick these up,” one analyst noted. A recent review highlighted concerns about the Pixelsnap Charger’s performance, specifically its tendency to overheat when attempting to reach 25W speeds with the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and even at 15W with the standard Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro.

The market offers a wealth of compelling alternatives. A standout option is the Belkin 3-in-1 charging stand, featuring a 25W Qi2 charger, a wireless charging pad for earbuds, and a USB-C output for devices like the Pixel Watch (though performance with the Pixel Watch 4 is limited to 5W). Notably, the Belkin stand includes a USB-C brick, a component Google omits from its package. “Personally, I’d go for that every time over Google’s, even if it is currently priced a few dollars higher,” a reviewer stated.

Other contenders include a $50 3-in-1 dock from UGreen, and puck-style chargers from ESR that have demonstrated compatibility with the Pixel 10. Even IKEA offers innovative Qi2 charging solutions.

However, the original assessment concludes that the Pixelsnap Charger remains a functional option, particularly at a discounted price. It “absolutely gets the job done, and a sale is the time to buy it.”
