L&T has decided to merge L&T Infotech and MindTree as subsidiaries of L&T.

The new company will be called LTI Mindry. DC Chatterjee will head the newly incorporated company.

Holders of 100 shares in MindTree will be allotted 73 shares in L&T Infotech. The parent company L&T will have a 68.7 percent stake in the merged company.

The combined revenue of the two companies will be $ 3.5 billion. L&T Infotech currently has a market cap of Rs 1.03 lakh crore and MindTree has a market cap of Rs 65,285 crore. When merged, the company will become a larger company than Tech Mahindra.

Sanjay Jolna of L&T Infotech has resigned for personal reasons. The merger is expected to end in 12 months.
