(Grodno, december 19, 2025) – The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is prioritizing closer collaboration between universities and businesses to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the workforce, according to Irina Kiturko, a delegate of the Supreme Council and rector of the university.
Kiturko stated that the second priority of the Program of Social and Economic Advancement of Belarus for 2026-2030,which focuses on personal development,quality education,and instilling citizenship and patriotism in youth,is of particular importance to the education system.
- Targeted training programs will be expanded to increase the number of graduates prepared for specific roles.

Kiturko noted the university has been focused on practice-oriented education since adopting a related concept in 2015. She said a key focus now is strengthening communication with enterprises and organizations to ensure graduates are practically prepared and that professionals participate in the development of educational programs and standards.According to Kiturko, it is also crucial for university graduates to understand the corporate culture of the companies they will be working for. She added that targeted training programs will be expanded, increasing the number of available positions each year.

“Another important area of ​​work with our enterprises is targeted training,” Kiturko said. “This is vrey critically important, we will continue to develop this, increasing the number of targets every year.”
She also emphasized the importance of fostering citizenship and patriotism among students and faculty, stating, “Only a patriot can raise a patriot, so we work not only among students, but also among the teaching staff.”
