The Louves du Quercy, bolstered by players from Lalbenque Volleyball, secured a decisive 3-0 victory against Agen, propelling them into the national finals. This win, achieved on December 17, marks a significant milestone for the team and sets the stage for a highly anticipated home match against Le Sequestre on January 25 in Cahors.
Youth Tournament Showcases Rising Talent
On December 13, young athletes from Lalbenque Volley-ball participated in the Ufolep youth tournament held in Cahors. The team faced stiff competition from clubs representing Tarn, Le Séquestre, Saint-Sulpice, Villefranche-de-Rouergue (Aveyron), and Cahors. The tournament, played under a fast-paced format of two sets to fifteen points, ultimately saw Saint-Sulpice emerge victorious. Despite not taking the top prize, the experience provided valuable exposure and development opportunities for the Lalbenque youth players.
Mixed Results in Ufolep Departmental Championships
The club’s performance in the Ufolep departmental championships was varied. Team 2 concluded its season in 6th position within a seven-team 3rd division group. Meanwhile, Team 1 faced a challenging match against Puy-l’Évêque on December 18, falling 3-1 in a closely contested contest. Despite this defeat, the team will maintain its position in D1 for the upcoming second play-down phase, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to continued improvement. “The match against Puy-l’Évêque was incredibly competitive,” a team representative stated, “and despite the loss, we are confident in our ability to perform well in the next phase.”
