In order to contribute to the development of new technological tools to face the educational challenges of Latin America, eight Australian companies that provide technological platforms and digital educational solutions join the Government of the Australian state of Victoria to promote a program that seeks to democratize education post-pandemic through a world-class innovation ecosystem.

In this second version of the Australian Virtual Edtech Trade Mission in the region, companies will present digital transformation tools that allow for better learning outcomes at the school, higher education and corporate levels, eliminating the barrier of face-to-face learning to achieve high levels of knowledge that empower students.

In more detail, Australian Edtech companies will collaborate with educational leaders from Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Brazil and other countries in the region, to address the main challenges in education facing Latin America. E-learning platforms, online assessment systems and student management programs will be presented to facilitate learning processes in the face of major contingencies, improving quality, experience and inclusion in education. In addition, they will present software to improve the student recruitment process, alert about possible dropouts, encourage student retention and universalize knowledge of the English language.

The city of Melbourne, capital of the state of Victoria, is a major global technology hub. It also offers one of the best education destinations in the world with 8 of its 10 universities ranked in the top 400 in the world. Thus, Victoria has been able to develop an ecosystem of cutting-edge educational technology that today seeks to strengthen itself with the collaboration of strategic allies in Latin America.

On this occasion, Latin America was considered a priority for this mission since the region suffered a massive closure of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic and, according to multilateral organizations, the Latin American education sector was one of the hardest hit worldwide. . The mission offers an ideal opportunity to share experiences and jointly address the challenges of the education sector.

For the director of the Office of Trade and Investment of the Government of the State of Victoria, Pablo Schatz, “this trade mission is a unique opportunity to generate links between the key players in Australia and Latin America. The idea is to share with the region the tools that allow expanding access to education at all levels and, for our part, to collect experiences, new knowledge and learning to keep us current and innovating”.

The trade mission, which will take place between May and June, will include the participation of Didasko Group, Edsmart, Intellischool, Nelnet International, Typsy, E2 Language, Education Perfect and Cahoot Learning, companies that will participate in presentations with experts, workshops applied to cases of study and meetings of work that allow to generate new alliances and to seal businesses with educative institutions of the countries involved.
