The data reveals especially high rates of tobacco consumption and vaping among women in Corsica, especially younger demographics. Despite these concerning figures, a positive sign emerges – a greater desire to quit and more frequent attempts to do so compared to the national average.In contrast, Corsica stands out favorably regarding alcohol consumption, with the lowest proportion of men exceeding recommended limits in all of France.

A meaningful concern is the high level of sedentary behaviour among young people, with over a quarter reporting more than seven hours of sitting per day – a lifestyle linked to numerous health risks.

Mental health indicators in Corsica are generally comparable to, or slightly better than, the national average regarding suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Though, depressive episodes are disproportionately affecting women, particularly younger individuals, with rates among the highest in France.
