MINQUADALE,Del. – A Delaware State Trooper was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon at a DMV facility in New Castle County, authorities said, sparking a swift response and a tragic outcome. The suspect, identified as Rahman Rose, 44, was later killed by a New Castle County police officer.

A Delaware State Trooper, Cpl. Matthew “Ty” Snook, was shot and killed while on duty at a DMV, leading to a confrontation with the suspect, Rahman Rose, who was subsequently fatally shot by a responding officer.

Cpl. snook had served with the Delaware State Police for 10 years.He was a Delaware native, a graduate of Saint Mark’s high School and the University of Maryland, where he competed on the wrestling team.
Along with Cpl. Snook’s death, the shooting resulted in several minor injuries. A 40-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital for non-gunshot-related injuries, while a 35-year-old woman was evaluated for shortness of breath but declined medical transport. Another state trooper sustained minor,non-gunshot-related injuries and was also not transported to a hospital.
