COULOMMIERS, France, Dec. 26, 2025 – A retired dental surgeon is aiming to shake up local politics. François Lenormand, a candidate in the 2026 Coulommiers municipal elections, is campaigning on a platform of increased security, fiscal responsibility, and revitalization of the city center.

He also proposes restoring nighttime lighting and implementing a “zero tolerance” policy for minor offenses,with fines issued through municipal decree to deter disruptive behavior.Effective collaboration between municipal and national police is also a key component of his security plan, despite what he views as insufficient nighttime staffing levels.

Lenormand is also focusing on the city’s finances, criticizing a debt he considers too high. “Every euro spent must be useful,” he insists.
