Quim Bigas, Sofia Asencio, Jordi Mitjà and Anna Dot are some of the artists who will take part in the third edition of the cycle If you don’t want dust, don’t come to the era organized by the Nyamnyam collective in their farmhouse in Mieres. From 2020, the Nyamnyam, Ariadna Rodriguez and Iñaki Álvarez, invite artists to make a creative residency in the Nyamnyam space, their base of operations in Mieres, with the aim of developing proposals related to the context where they will be made and to present them in the framework of this cycle.

They do it in days designed to spend the whole day in the Garrotxa farmhouse and to be able to interact with the artists during the vermouth and lunch hours, with the collaboration of cultural facilities and spaces such as the Antic Teatre or the Bòlit, the Center. of Contemporary Art of Girona.

In total, this year the programming of If you don’t want dust don’t come to the era will include the participation of more than twenty artists from different disciplines spread over four days between May and August, the first of which it is today.

Today’s day will begin with Dying of the Du-da community, a reflection on discourses on death, illness and aging from tools such as witch books or grandmothers’ kitchens.

In the afternoon, the choreographer Quim Bigas will give a dance presentation of the DV publication, which revolves around the archives of the Mercat de les Flors and La Porta, and then the artists Jesús Asenjo and Andreu Cunill will present Wrong Music accompanied by strange instruments.

Throughout the day you can also see the audiovisual installation Agrilogística by Gerard Ortín, a sensory journey that explores the future of food production.

Until August

The next days of the cycle will be on June 11, July 16 and August 26, with activities such as a reduced version of the exhibition Towards the Gods of the Bòlit de Girona, an intervention by Laia Estruch around the Olot tavern songs or Session Chroma, by Noela Covelo Velasco and Claudia del Barrio, a reflection that links new media such as TikTok with folk heritage.
