Cochin : Twenty-Twenty also announced that it will not contest behind the Aam Aadmi Party in the Thrikkakara by-election. Both the parties have stated that they will not run in the by-elections after realizing that the election will not determine the state government and that it will not be of any significant benefit to the parties if it contests. Sabu M Jacob said there was no political significance in contesting the by-election. The founder of the Twenty20 party said that it was a joint decision of the two parties. At the same time, Sabu M Jacob added that he will focus more on organizational activities.

AAP Kerala observer N Raja said in a press conference in Kochi that he will not contest in the by-elections. But an AAP observer had said that the party ranks would later announce who to vote for in Thrikkakara. But it will be crucial who gets the votes of the ranks of both parties.

But today, May 8, the BJP announced its candidate for the Thrikkakara by-election. AN Radhakrishnan, who is also the BJP state vice-president, is the NDA candidate in Thrikkakara. The announcement was made by the BJP Central Election Commission. Concerns about the NDA candidate were also a hot topic in the party when the LDF and UDF announced their candidates.
