BEND, Ore. — Construction of a new pharmaceutical plant in northeast Bend reached a major milestone Thursday as the structural framework was completed.

Serán bioscience will manufacture prescription medicines on site and ship them directly to pharmacies and patients. The company’s CEO estimates the facility could create approximately 200 jobs within the next few years.

“There is a really excellent pharmaceutical environment here.There are at least five companies that I’m aware of that do similar types of things.
