Mumbai: In IPL 2022, umpiring errors continue to occur while technical errors recur. Gujarat Titans batsman Matthew Wade has been ruled out of today’s match between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB v GT). The controversial dismissal came in the last over of the power play in the Gujarat innings.
Wade missed a sweep shot in the second ball of the over thrown by Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell’s appeal to LBW on the ball hitting the pad. The umpire ruled out. But Wade took the review because the ball hit the bat before hitting the pad. In replay it was clear that the ball was hitting the bat but it did not show on the ultra edge. The third umpire also confirmed the dismissal when it became clear that the ball would go to the wicket in ball tracking.
