MUSC Health and Baxter Partner to Revolutionize Nursing with Connected Care Technologies
A new multi-year collaboration between MUSC Health and Baxter aims to dramatically improve patient care and support nurses through the integration of advanced, connected technologies.
MUSC Health and Baxter have joined forces to advance the use of connected care technologies within nursing, seeking to enhance patient care delivery and address critical challenges facing healthcare professionals. The partnership will leverage Baxter’s established healthcare solutions alongside MUSC Health’s renowned academic and clinical expertise.
The initiative focuses on several key areas, including boosting nurse retention and satisfaction, elevating safety and quality standards, and pioneering new approaches like automating nursing workflows. A core objective is to facilitate the sharing of best practices that can be implemented across the broader healthcare landscape.
Specifically, the partnership aims to unify bedside technologies to minimize the administrative burden of documentation, streamline interaction among staff, and enable seamless data sharing between disparate systems.This unified approach is expected to free up valuable time for nurses, allowing them to focus more directly on patient care.
Further enhancements will include reducing administrative duties to improve nurse satisfaction,strengthening quality and safety through the use of real-time data and advanced monitoring tools,and bolstering nursing education through collaborative programs.

This collaboration builds on MUSC Health’s existing commitment to innovation in patient care. In May 2025, the health system will also begin a partnership with Glytec to improve diabetes and glycaemic management across its hospital network, demonstrating a continued focus on leveraging technology to address specific patient needs.
