Entertainment journalist Magaly Medina is weighing her return to Peruvian television, but not before prioritizing her recovery from recent facial surgery. The television personality revealed she’s still “deflating” from the procedure and doesn’t yet have a firm premiere date for her show.
Medina also addressed a parody created by comedian Jorge Benavides that poked fun at her cosmetic enhancements, stating she wasn’t bothered by it. “Well, I have a wide strap. I love it as long as there is bounce,” she said in a recent interview with a media outlet. “I have had a philosophy since I started on the program: as long as they talk, whether good about you or bad about you, everything adds up, everything is perfect.”
Medina Offers Script Advice to Benavides
In an interview with Infobae Perú, Medina responded to Benavides’ parody, offering a bit of constructive criticism. She suggested he focus on improving his scripts as he prepares to appear on Panamericana TV.
“I wish JB the best, I hope your scripts improve because Saturdays (on ATV) had really become a sleeping pill. I hope that there (in Panamericana) he doesn’t continue using my character and I can create new ones, “That I can bring out all the talent that I know I have.” she stated.
Magaly Medina and how her face turned out
Medina also revealed that her previous network, ATV, had previously limited the number of imitations of her character due to overexposure. “At one point, it was decided that I should stop imitating me because I was already… even inventing things that never happened. That was already too much abuse of my image. Every Saturday, almost the entire JB program was solely based on my character. And that is something that I take great care of, the overexposure of my image.”

Return Date Still Undetermined
While Medina is in talks with her network regarding a return date, she’s prioritizing her health. “I’m talking to the channel and seeing things with the production people. I’m returning, but I can’t say the date. I know there’s a lot of expectation, but, really, I need to be deflated,” she explained. “I can’t put it on this face that it’s depuffing two kilos of makeup, which is what you need when you’re on television every night.”
