The Chinese aircraft carrier Liang was reported to have conducted a full-scale military exercise in the Gulf between Japan and Taiwan. The exercise was aimed at cutting out America’s spy eyes. China’s current naval exercises provide a strong indication of how quickly a military operation can be launched against Taiwan. Chinese warships have been under heavy surveillance by Japanese and US forces for the past two weeks. The two were watching the movements of the Chinese aircraft carrier without batting an eyelid. This time the Chinese aircraft carrier traveled 85 nautical miles from the Yayoma Islands of Japan and 160 nautical miles from Taiwan.
Japanese Defense Minister Nobo Kishi has said that a military exercise was held in Liaoning, China, between May 3 and 9. It is reported that exercises to defend the submarines, which were attended by Shenyang J15 fighter jets and helicopters, also took place as part of the military exercise.
